Dr. Peter Kovacs graduated from the Albert Szent-Gyorgyi School of Medicine in Szeged, Hungary in 1994. He did his OB/GYN training and subspecialty training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility in New York at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Upon completion his training he moved back to Hungary and assumed a position at the Dunamenti REK Reprodukcios Kozpont (formerly known as Kaali Institute) IVF center. In 2008 he was promoted to become the medical director of the center. He serves on the Hungarian Human Reproduction Committee which is the highest regulating body of ART in Hungary. In 2005 he earned a PhD degree at the University of Pecs, Hungary for assessing the effect of diabetes/ insulin on GnRH neuron activity using a rat model. In 2024 has was awarded the degree habilitated medical doctor at University of Pecs, Hungary. His current research interest focuses on ovarian reserve tests, stimulation options for IVF, predictors of IVF outcome and on various tools, including time-lapse technology that could be used to improve clinical outcome. He published his research work in national and international peer-reviewed journals and was the co-editor of the first Hungarian textbook on infertility evaluation and treatment. He gave over 100 presentations at national and international meetings.
